What happens behind the scenes
Each scene on this site is a carefully written and tested setup: the setting, the props, the light, the camera angle and the style. When you upload a photo, we combine it with the scene you chose and with strict instructions to keep your pet's identity: face shape, eye colour, ear shape, coat colours and every marking in the same place.
You never have to write a prompt. If you want a small change, such as "holding a tennis ball" or "wearing a red collar", type it in the short detail box and we add it to the scene.
How to take a photo that works
Works best
- Face clearly visible and in focus
- Soft daylight, e.g. near a window
- Camera at your pet's eye level
- One pet per photo
- Recent photo that shows their current look
Avoid
- Face turned away or hidden
- Strong filters or beauty effects
- Very dark or backlit photos
- Several pets in one photo
- Heavy motion blur
Why breed matters (a little)
AI image models tend to fall back to the most common-looking dog or cat of a breed. Telling us the breed is optional, but it lets us protect the features models often get wrong — see our dog breed and cat guides.
Your photos stay private
Uploaded photos are used only to create your portrait. They are never added to our gallery and are deleted automatically after 7 days. Read the privacy policy.
